That’s not an error message - it’s reporting that /dev/sda2 is clean. The problem probably occurs right after that. – Jeff Spaulding Jan 31 at 18:59

At the grub menu (the menu you select “debian” with when you first boot), press e to edit the entry, and then look for a line that starts with linux. Remove the quiet from that line. That will let you see the boot messages, and narrow down exactly where it’s halting. – Jeff Spaulding Jan 31 at 19:14

That’s where it’s switching to the NVidia console driver. Do you have an Intel processor and an NVidia video card? You sure your monitor is plugging into the NVidia card, and not the onboard? Try adding nomodeset to the linux line where you removed the quiet before and see if it boots. You can try disabling Intel video in your BIOS as well. I’m assuming this is not a laptop, here - some laptops have a mode where they use both Intel and NVidia chips cooperatively (Optimus), in which case it’s a completely different ball of wax. – Jeff Spaulding Jan 31 at 19:44
