Ecran : résolution, fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Bonjour,

depuis hier, mon PC sous debian 7, sur lequel je n’ai fait, me semble-t-il, aucune intervention particulière (pas de mise à jour), démarre avec une sortie écran en résolution 1024x768, alors qu’il fonctionnait sans problème auparavant, et depuis plusieurs années, sur une résolution supérieure.

En suivant https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/xrandr, je parviens à passer à d’autres résolutions (actuellement 1400x1050), mais ce n’est pas satisfaisant : débordements (par exemple, la barre des tâches inférieure est en dehors de la zone d’affichage mais j’ai d’autres débordements avec d’autres résolutions), impression géénrale de flou, notamment pour le texte.

J’ai cru comprendre que le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf est censé gérer la détection et la configuration de l’écran au démarrage, mais il est absent. Le système lit /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d et ne trouve effectivement rien de mieux que la résolution 1024x768. Pour plus de précision, voici /var/log/Xorg.0.log :
