Alors je viens de l’installer, mais j’avoue que je ne vois pas trop ce que ça change… En tout cas je n’ai toujours pas de sortie audio !!

C’est bête de ne pas pouvoir faire de diff sur les dmesg …

Au minimum le message d’erreur concernant le firmware manquant ne devrait plus se produire.

C’est tout ? Dans l’extrait précédent il y avait beaucoup plus de messages avant l’échec de chargement du firmware.

Par exemple , tu fais un

On a déjà vu sur ce forum des problèmes de son traîner pendant plus d’un mois, bricolés approximativement de doc en doc, de forum en forum, sans atteindre un état stable, même pour du Debian ‹ stable ›.
Avant de compliquer la situation et de modifier un peu tout sans traçabilité, je propose de commencer par faire une photo de l’état du système.

Important:
→ S’agit-il d’une SID installée ‹ neuve ›, ou d’une mise à jour de versions Debian successives ?

Dans un premier temps, si pas déjà installés, peux-tu installer les firmwares suivant du dépôt ‹ non-free-firmware ›:
firmware-intel-sound firmware-sof-signed

et rebooter, pour voir. Si pas de changement, retour de:

dpkg -l |awk '$2~"pipew|pulse|alsa|wirep|intel|-sof" && $1~/^i/ {print $1,$2}'

et

systemctl --user list-unit-files --state=enabled --no-pager |awk '/pipe|wirep|pulse/'

!! Il y a quelques points délicats, et non intuitifs.

Embêtant : tu as installé des trucs qui vont peut être empêcher un fonctionnement normal .

Pas un problème à priori, encore qu’ il faudrait vérifier plus précisément. Ma question était plus à partir de versions successives plus anciennes de Debian.
Le problème serait plus que je ne sais pas ce que tu as déjà éventuellement déjà tripatouillé.

Ça va être plus compliqué et sensible qu’espéré, mais SID is SID !
Le problème est très probablement un souci de synchronicité entre versions exactes du noyau et paquets firmware-sof-signed et alsa-ucm-conf.

Il va falloir passer en mode bidouille SID. Sinon à part attendre, je ne vois pas.
Le plus simple à tenter est ceci:

Je remet mon journal de démarrage car il y a encore des problèmes à résoudre… notamment la webcam qui ne marche pas (même si je ne suis pas un grand adepte de la visio…)

Je note que tu as changé de noyau: 6.10.9 → 6.10.11
Ce n’est pas un détail, mais essentiel à informer.

Ton BIOS est-il à jour ? → sudo dmidecode |grep Date

Peux-tu confirmer le modèle exact de ta webcam avec lspci (pour éviter de perdre du temps).

Tu peux tenter pour essai de rajouter l’option noyau ‹ i915.enable_psr=0 ›, soit directement au boot dans l’interface de grub, si tu comprends ce que je veux dire, ou "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet i915.enable_psr=0" dans /etc/default/grub, puis rafraichir le grub.
→ splash à retirer temporairement pour mieux voir ce qui se passe au boot.


En première analyse rapide, mes impressions sont que ça va être compliqué, car on tombe dans la problématique de softs propriétaires (différence Dell ubuntu/Debian sur ce problème). Pas sûr qu’il existe une solution simple Debian.
Afin de ne pas créer de confusion inutile dans ce fil, je propose de concentrer celui-ci sur le son en renommant le titre 'Problème son Dell xps 14 (9440) / SID ’ et d’en ouvrir un autre 'Problème webcam Dell xps 14 (9440) / SID ’

@Verner je te remercie vraiment pour le temps que tu as pris pour résoudre ce problème de son… Et je vais suivre ton bon conseil en renommant ce fil et en en créant un nouveau. Merci également à tout ceux qui ont pris du temps pour m’aider.

Oui, c’est bien de créer un nouveau fil pour ta webcam.

Merci aussi de préciser ce qui a résolu le problème de son : nouveau noyau ? installation de alsa-usm-conf ? effacer asound.state ? ou la combinaison des trois ? Ça peut aider d’autres personnes…

Pour éviter que ce sujet relatif à SID soit relancé dans un mois ou un an, il est préférable de le marquer [résolu], SID évoluant rapidement, et un moins plus tard, un problème son sera différent.

Le point clef était l’ajout de firmware-sof-signed, dont l’installation exécute ceci:

dpkg-maintscript-helper dir_to_symlink /usr/lib/firmware/intel/sof-ace-tplg sof-ipc4-tplg 2024.06-1\~ -- "$@"

… qui rend moins évidente la traçabilité entre contenu du paquet et firmware sof-intel réclamé, entre autre

Concernant alsa-ucm-conf, je ne pense pas que la mise à jour directe à partir de git était nécessaire, étant donnée la date du paquet SID (01 Jul 2024), mais tant qu’à faire.
La mise à jour noyau n’a à mon avis eu pour conséquence utile pour ce problème son de fournir intel-sof à l’initramfs.

Il ne fallait donc pas grand-chose pour une SID, et ça aurait était plus compliqué pour une stable.

@yrbane ouvrira un sujet webcam s’il le juge utile, qui sera probablement plus compliqué, en première analyse.

Désolé, pour ma pitoyable réactivité, mon emplois du temps ne m’a pas laissé le loisir de rebooter sur debian, qui cohabite avec un partition ubuntu sur laquelle je travaille.

J’ai mis [résolu] dans le titre du sujet, je ne sais pas si c’est comme ça qu’il faut faire.

Vais sûrement ouvrir, dans un avenir proche, un sujet pour la camera. Enfin le problème de son m’embêtait un peu plus!!! Je ne suis pas adepte de la visio :wink:
