Carte Wifi non reconnue

Bonjour à tous,

Je suis débutant sous Debian mais pas sous linux. Mon problème est que je viens d’installer Debian Etch avec le CD de NetInstall. Tut s’est bien passé, sauf pour ma carte Wifi qui n’est pas prise en charge par Debian. Debian ne la reconnait même pas.

Lorsque je tape ifconfig, je ne trouve que eth0 et lo mais pas de carte wifi à configurer. Avec lspci, c’est la même chose, pas de carte Wifi trouvée.

Ma carte wifi est une broadcom. Dites-moi si il y a quelque chose que je peux faire pour faire reconnaitre ma carte wifi.

Si c’est une carte PCI, donne le résultat d’un lspci. Si c’est une clef USB, donne le résultat d’un lsusb. Si c’est un autre type de carte (PC Card par exemple), précise le.

Et au passage, un dmesg.

S’agit-il vraiment d’une carte PCI ?

Elle n’est pas détectée par le système car elle n’apparaît pas sur lspci.
Est-elle bien branchée correctement ? Fonctionne-t-elle sur une autre machine ou un autre OS ?

Dans l’ordre :

  • essaye un noyau plus récent (noyau etchnhalf par exemple)
  • essaye un autre port PCI
  • essaye de démarrer avec l’option pci=routeirq
  • essaye de démarrer avec l’option acpi=off

Et donne le résultat d’un lspci et dmesg avec le nouveau noyau.

C’est quoi cette carte, ça marque, ça référence ?

C’est une carte Wifi Atheros avec un chipset 5006EG.

Je viens de voir sur Internet qu’il était possible d’utiliser Madwifi pour contrer ce problème. qu’en pensez-vous ?

Pour les chipsets atheros, c’est bien madwifi qu’il faut utiliser comme driver.

Mais c’est quand même étonnant que ta carte n’apparaisse pas dans le lspci.

Essai avec les derniers kernels (à partir du 2.6.25 , les chipsets ATHEROS sont gérés avec ath5k).
