Comment afficher le(s) pingouin(s) au démarrage ?

Bonjour @ tous,

Je débute tout juste ma première installation de debian en netinstall en 2.6 pour le kernel.

J’ai remarqué que certains liveCD affichaient un ou deux petit(s) pingouin(s) en haut de la console au boot, quand il s’agit par exemple d’un P4 HT et c’est mon cas, seulement, cela ne s’affiche pas encore alors que j’ai upgradé le kernel en 2.6 686-smp. Pouvez vous m’aider ? :slightly_smiling:

tu veut dire une petite image ? c’est ca ?avec peut être une barre de progression?

non le_petit_chat_noir, mais quand tu compiles ton noyau avec framebuffer, tu peux afficher un pingouin au boot, et même autant de pingouins qu’il y a de processeurs.
Donc ce n’est pas anormal de se demander si l’hyperthreading est bien actif quand on ne voit qu’un pingouin.

Tu peux déjà vérifier avec dmesg (au tout début) ce que dit plus précisément ton boot à propos du nombre de processeurs détectés.

PS: si tu disais plus précisément quel 2.6 tu utilises (avec uname -r ), on pourrait te dire si ton noyau a des chances de supporter l’HT, aussi, peut être.

l’acpi doit être activé dans le noyau, aussi pour que l’HT fonctionne.
tu peux aussi donner le resultat de grep kernel /boot/grub/menu.lst

ah ben je comprends mieux: dans ton vmware, c’est pas dit qu’il te transpose complètement l’architecture de la machine sur laquelle tu tourne, c’est en tournant avec une knoppix dans ton vmware que tu pourrais comparer.
Mais sans doutes que si tu bootais ta debian directement, tu aurais tes deux pingouins. La machine vmware et la machine physique sont deux choses diffèrentes.

Le acpi=ht est censé >restreindre< les fonctionnalités acpi du noyau à celles du ht. C’etait juste pour tâtonner, mais ca ne me parait pas souhaitable en situation réèlle (dans ton U :laughing: )!
