Debian Sid : MàJ Gnome 3.18 et gdm

Bonsoir à tous,

Après mise à jour de ma Debian Sid vers Gnome 3.18, je rencontre le problème suivant : je me retrouve avec une arrivée à l’écran de login plus lente, et un passage de l’écran de login au bureau encore plus lent… Un usage CPU augmenté. Et surtout je me rends compte qu’après l’affichage du bureau, l’écran de login gdm reste actif sur tty7, alors que le bureau est lancé sur tty2, donc plusieurs processus gnome-shell en parallèle…

Voilà j’aimerais comprendre s’il s’agit d’un nouveau bug, ou bien est-ce normal comme comportement? Auparavant lorsque je me log-ais, tout se faisait dans tt7, passage par gdm3 puis arrivée sur le bureau…

Fais chanter [mono]systemd[/mono] au travers du [mono]journalctl[/mono].

J’ai également relevé ce que tu cites et je m’y suis penché un peu hier soir faute de temps, ainsi que sur les man bien que ma compréhension soit encore limitée à ce niveau de bug…

J’ai également relevé le fait que systemd crée trois sessions à la suite pour l’utilisateur 119, en l’occurence Debian-gdm, et que les deux premières se terminent par un [mono]kill[/mono] avant que la 3è n’aboutisse, peut-être aussi une piste sur la lenteur de gdm, bref je ne sais pas si c’est un comportement normal mais ça me parait bizarre…

Bon finalement pour revenir sur cette histoire et clore ce sujet, il se trouve que ce comportement est normal… Depuis la version 3.16…

Bref en gros c’est devenu un vrai bourbier, pour une politique OS qui se veut faire les choses au plus simple, là c’est diamétralement opposé comme décision selon mon opinion…

En ce qui me concerne perso, l’arrivée sur le bureau prend plus de temps (passé de 30-40s à 1min voire 1min30…), le processus que je vais appeler [mono]GDM[/mono] consomme de la RAM (et pas qu’un peu en plus, ça part de 20-30 Mo chacun au démarrage pour atteindre 300-400 Mo chacun, parfois plus après un certain bout de temps… sauf que le serveur X peut être relancé avec Alt+F2 et “r”, mais pas celui de GDM, il faut redémarrer le PC!).

Non seulement il consomme de la RAM mais en plus il semblerait avoir des fuites de mémoire (bon ça je l’accorde ç’est un souci qui pourra sans doute se régler), et enfin Wayland ne fonctionne toujours pas (chez moi impossible de me loguer en Gnome Wayland, après avoir entré mon mot de passe utilisateur le système me ramène systématiquement à l’écran de login).
Et pour les heureux possesseurs de carte graphique Nvidia (vous avez deviné j’en fais partie… :smiley: ), le problème semble être encore plus accentué…
Mais bon et surtout, un écran GDM qui reste ouvert comme ça dans un tty et qui bouffe de la RAM pour rien, ça sert à rien…!

En attendant patiemment une avancée éventuelle, je marque cette question comme résolue.

hum… ton souci doit avoir une autre cause car chez moi le démarrage est de quelques secondes , gome-wayland fonctionne parfaitement et sur une nvidia GeForce 210

Oui c’est sûr, je ne lie pas le dysfonctionnement de wayland à ceci, néanmoins ça ne marche pas :smiley:

Avec quel pilote tournes-tu? Nouveau ou Nvidia?

Wayland ne tourne actuellement toujours pas avec les binaires Nvidia. Alors comment as-tu fait? :stuck_out_tongue:
