Etch a du mal avec ma 2ème souris USB

Salut à tous,

Comme c’est mon premier post ici, je vais peut-être me présenter. Utilisateur de longue date de Windows (14/15 ans, depuis Windows 3.1), je me considère comme un débutant sous Linux. Après avoir testé Mandrake 9/10, puis Ubuntu 5.x, avec, entre temps à la fac, Fedora Core 4, j’ai décidé il y a peu de passer à Debian qui correspond tout à fait à ma définition d’OS libre, tout en étant certainement moins “bridé” qu’Ubuntu (qui est très bien aussi).

Je me considère comme débutant, car j’ai toujours l’impression de passer du temps sur des problèmes à la c…, qui diffèrent selon la distribution ! Là, par exemple, sur ma Debian “Etch” (Testing), j’ai ma deuxième souris qui a beaucoup de mal à fonctionner, alors qu’elle ne m’a jamais posé aucun souci, que ce soit sous Windows, Mandrake ou Ubuntu.

Car sur mon PC, j’ai deux souris : une à boule (berk), fournie en kit avec mon clavier sans fil, de marque Chicony WUR0108, et une optique filaire plus ancienne de marque QWare, reconnue sous Linux comme Cypress USB/PS2 Combo Browser Mouse. C’est celle-ci qui pose problème.

Le récepteur du clavier et de la souris sans fil est branché sur le port USB n°1 de mon PC, ma deuxième souris filaire, sur le port USB n°2. Tout semble bien reconnu au boot (modules USB HID chargés, affichage du nom de la souris, etc.), mais elle ne réagit pas à l’écran de connexion.

Du moins au premier boot. Car là où c’est étrange, c’est qu’apparemment, il suffit que je ferme ma session GNOME pour que celle-ci se mette à fonctionner comme si de rien n’était, et ce, dès l’affichage de l’écran de connexion. Parfois, le fait de la débrancher/rebrancher la fait fonctionner, mais pas toujours.

Notez également que, tant que le curseur ne bouge pas, je n’obtiens rien de cat /dev/input/mice avec ma deuxième souris. Par contre quand je ferme et rouvre ma session pour la “récupérer”, là, elle répond sans problème à cette commande.

Une idée sur l’origine du problème ? Tout à l’air pourtant OK dans le log du serveur X et dans xorg.conf, mais je vous laisse en juger avec le contenu des fichiers que je vous poste ci-dessous :

Oui j’ai essayé d’autres protocoles, PS/2 et ImPS/2, et ça donne les mêmes résultats.

Ce qui me paraît bizarre, c’est que ma souris fonctionne dès que je ferme et rouvre ma session, sans toucher à rien d’autre ! Je boote la première fois sous Debian, pas de souris, je ferme ma session tout de suite après, et la souris marche !

Dans ce cas je vois pas pourquoi il s’activerait au premier boot, puis disparaîtrait dès que je fermerais ma session, sans réapparaître lorsque je la rouvre ?

Si je poste le contenu de mon fichier /var/log/Xorg.0.log, ça pourrait aider à diagnostiquer ce genre de problèmes ?

Problème résolu ?

Je viens de mettre à jour mon système via Synaptic, il a installé pas mal de paquets dont des mises à jour pour dpkg, libgnome et pas mal d’autres…

J’ai ensuite redémarré l’ordi, puis la souris semble désormais fonctionner… je croise les doigts pour que le problème ne réapparaisse plus… rendez-vous au prochain reboot :slightly_smiling:
