Installer les drivers propriétaires d'une radeon sur lenny

Bonjour,

je viens de passer de etch à lenny.

tous marche bien sauf ma carte graphique (radeon 9000) quand j’essaye d’installer le driver fglrx.

J’ai essayé de compiler avec le module assistant mais il y a une erreur.
J’ai finalement compilé avec un noyau plus ancien, je l’ai installé mais lorsque je lance le serveur graphique (gdm) il me dit : “no screen found”

je galère et une aide ne serais pas de refus…

d’après mes info, pour pouvoir installer les drivers ATI propriétaires il faut désactiver l’option “paravitualization” dans le noyau
ça signifie donc qu’il faut compiler un nouveau noyau …

ce que j’ai fait et dès lors ça marche (enfin je veux dire que le module est fonctionnel mais j’ai de nouveau des parasites sur l’écran d’où j’ai viré le driver ati)

bon ben :

d’abord installer les sources ; normalement (tu es sous lenny) linux-source-2.6.21
puis :
gcolpart.com/howto/kernel.php4

pour la configuration du noyau tu laisses celle par défaut (gràce à la commande make oldconfig) mais bien sûr tu décoches, dans la rubrique “processor type and feature”, l’option "[i]paravitualization support /i (NEW)"
quand tu auras compilé et installé ton nouveau noyau, et booté ton système avec ce dernier, alors tu réutilises “module-assistant”

voilà mais c’est pt lourd, sinon pour rester dans l’état actuel de ta situation livre ton fichier “etc/x11/xorg.conf” et on verra
question à ce propos : quand tu reviens au fichier xorg.conf d’avant l’installation de fglrx, xwindow fonctionne-t-il ?

Alors, je suis arrivé a installer le driver mais… sa marche pas. :cry:

il me sort une erreur du style "no screen found"
mais quand je remplace “fglrx” par “vesa” sa marche (sauf la 3D)

une idée?

C’est fait pour Nvidia mais c’est le même soucis que le tien.

PS : Normalement, un noyau 2.6.18 ne devrait pas poser de problème de paravirtualisation…

propriétaire d’une radeon Xpress 1100 (assez rescente) elle a marché du premier coup , c’est étrange … j’ai une radeon 9000 sur mon desktop et j’ai aucun soucis sous une etch donc sous une lenny çà ne devrait pas poser de soucis en théorie.

que tu retourne fglrxinfo ? (en tant que user)

EDIT : sinon reseigne toi pour installer les drivers open sources que proposent ati ta carte est supportée , les opensources marchent mieux que les proprios :wink:

j’ai recompilé un noyau en enlevant la face option,
j’ai installer les drivers fglrx avec le module assistant,
tous va bien jusqu’au démarrage de gdm.

voila : mais pour avoir une interface graphique qui marche a peut près je change le driver fglrx en vesa.

te prends pas la tete avec les proprios ATI vient de passé à l’open sources il n’y a pas longtemps et à donné prés de 900 pages de documentations pour leur carte au projet libre freedesktop (les ati opensources) ta carte radeon 9000 est extrêmement bien supportée (pour dire çà marche mieux qu’avec les vieux catalyst de windobe :smiley: ) alors ==> passes au open sources , tu verra c’est rapide , simple et surtout éfficaces :wink: (tu va juste doubler tes FPS)

tu configures ton serveur x en choisissant “ati” comme pilote au lieu de “fglrx” ?
par exemple …

cela ne marche pas, je vois seulement un écran tout noir mais j’entends le son de ma session aMSN qui se connecte.

Une idée?

Pour revenir à fglrx, le module est-il tout simplement lancé ?

Sinon je plussoie les drivers libres. Seulement, lorsque j’ai le module fglrx installé, mon driver libre merde. japan445 à fait un bon tuto pour passer de fglrx au driver libre dans trucs et astuces.
