Hello,

J’ai un petit soucis depuis un moment, je n’ai plus de bureau sous Gnome3 (pas de wallpaper, pas d’icônes, conky ne fonctionne plus). Je pensais avoir fait une erreur lors d’un dist-upgrade mais j’ai tout réinstallé depuis une debian testing et upgradé à sid et le problème est revenu.
La seule piste que j’ai est le message d’erreur au lancement de conky :

Quelqu’un a une petite idée de mon problème?

Ah oui, j’oublie qu’il y a un autre soucis, les raccourcis claviers ne fonctionnent plus, enfin pas tous. “Alt+F2” fonctionne correctement, “Ctrl+Alt+L” pour verrouiller la session ne fonctionne pas, mes raccourcis prédéfinis pour le contrôle des médias et du volume ne fonctionnent plus, la grande majorité des raccourcis ne fonctionne pas en fait…

Malgré le fait que je pense qu’il y a des chances que ça me plaise, quels sont les réels avantages par rapport à Gnome?

Tu as aussi le fichier ~/.xsession-errors, que tu peux poster ici, qui indiquerait les noms des programmes qui plantent, et pourrait être utile.

Le tout est d’identifier le(s) composant(s) de Gnome3 qui plantent ou ne se lancent pas.

Tu peux aussi créer un compte utilisateur bidon, pour voir si le problème ne vient pas de ta configuration (c’est à dire voir comment se comporte Gnome3 «à neuf» sur ton système).

J’y penserai pour XFCE mais j’aimerais bien quand même identifier le problème.

Alors j’ai testé avec un nouvel utilisateur, le problème est le même mais j’ai remarqué qu’avec le nouveau Gnome il n’y a pas de soucis, uniquement avec flashback…

Pour le fichier .xsession-errors, il y a quelque chose en particulier à chercher dedans? J’ai pas trop envie de poster 1900 lignes ici…

Flashback, la suite d’Another World tu veux dire ?

Donc Gnome3 fonctionne normalement, mais vu que tu utilises le mode fallback, ça déconne, c’est ça ?

Pour .xsession-errors, le forum gère les pièces jointes.
Si tu as un soucis de «vie privée», vide le, et relance Gnome de façon à recréer le problème, pour que ce fichier se remplisse de nouveau. Mais je ne pense pas que ce fichier puisse contenir des indiscretions, juste des applications plaintives…

Sinon, il faut bien plus de 2000 lignes pour effrayer un scruteur de logs :stuck_out_tongue:

Pour ce qui est intéressant à y voir, pas facile de savoir à l’avance. Il faut juste repérer les messages d’erreurs des applications qui correspondent aux symptomes que tu observes.

Il serait intéressant de savoir comment ce passage de Testing vers Sid c’est effectué ?!

Les problèmes avec le Gnome, même en Stable, étant réellement perpétuels, depuis bien trop longtemps … :083

À la base, as-tu installé Jessie avec son bureau Gnome3 avant d’upgrader vers Unstable ?

Si tel est le cas (vu les conflits, les dépendances et la lourdeur du Gnome) la migration vers Sid ne peut ([strike]obligatoirement[/strike]) se faire sans heurt !! :mrgreen:

Jessie -> Sid -> (install) Environnement X … :whistle:

Pour le .xsession-errors, malheureusement il n’existe pas après suppression et redémarrage, j’en déduis donc qu’il n’y a pas d’erreur reportées au lancement?

Puisque tu en es au balbutiement dans l’install/config de cette machine. Mieux vaut tard …

Perso, (¹ stable -> testing -> sid -> X) je l’aurai joué comme suit.

Selon ton approches.

Installation d’une testing (no-graphique), (déjà là¹, apt-listbugs ne peut chanter en ta faveur) modification du sources.list/preferences (apt-listbugs ?) vers Unstable -> [mono]# aptitude update && aptitude full-upgrade[/mono]

Et, seulement après, installation de l’environnement graphique [strike]KDE[/strike] du Gnome3 et roules ma poule … :wink:

gnome 3.8 vient tout juste de descendre dans testing. il me parait délicat de vouloir aller plus loin pour l’instant. sid ne s’impose pas du tout dans ce cas.
pour utiliser gnome 3.10 mieux vaut se rapprocher de fedora ou de archlinux.

ps l’install de gnome 3.8 depuis l’iso testing fonctionne très bien.(testé pour vous)
j’ai rajouté ensuite les dépôts stable par précaution

Ok je note, je verrai pour faire ça dès que j’ai un poil de temps.
J’en profite pour savoir si des gens parmi vous utilisent Tilda. Je bosse avec deux instances et un comportement bizarre est apparu en même temps que mes autres problèmes, ils ont un focus “on hover”, ce qui est assez dérangeant je trouve. Est-ce que c’est lié? Est-ce que je suis le seul dans ce cas?

Je tiens à préciser que le problème de focus de tilda est le même sous Gnome et sous XFCE.

Alors j’ai fait testing -> apt-listbug -> sid -> XFCE.
Pour le moment aucun problème, je n’ai pas envie de réinstaller Gnome pour voir si il y a un soucis ou pas, XFCE me paraît très très bien :smiley:
