[RESOLU] installation des drivers nvidia sur debian etch

J’essaie en vain d’installer les driver nvidia sur debian etch. 9a fait au moins dix fois que j’essais, c’est prise de tête :frowning:

J’ai essayé en suivant cette procedure avec les paquets debian :

Tout se passe bien sauf que le fichier xorg.conf n’est pas modifié. Je le modifie en changeant “vesa” par “nvidia” et au reboot , impossible de lancer X :frowning:

Heureusement, je fais une copie de xorg.conf à chaque fois.

Après mes divers echecs, je decide de telecharger le driver sur le site nvidia. Normalment pour l’installer, il faut sortir de X en faisant “init 3”. Dans mon cas quand je fais "init 3 " rien ne se passe. Je reste sur mon bureau ??? je ne peux donc installer les drivers nvidia quelque soit la procédure.

peut-être avez-vous une idée.

Et surtout n’installe pas les drivers nvidia en provenance du site nvidia les explications du pourquoi sont aussi dans le tuto

Merci pour ta réponse, mais j’ai déjà suivi cette procedure et le resultat est le même. impossible d’installer les drivers nvidia.

Je vais essayer une dernière fois en reinstallant debian.

Là, j’avoue ne pas comprendre . Je n’ai jamais eu ce type de problème sur ubuntu, mandriva ou PClinuxOS.

PS: ce rajoute à ça le son. Et pareil, j’ai essayé diverses solutions et lu divers articles, tutos sans resultat. Je crois que je ne suis pas encore assez mûre pour utiliser Debian :frowning:

que donne un dmesg
et aussi les log de xorg lorsque ça plante
donne nous aussi la version des logiciels que tu utilise en rapport avec ton problème.

Sans ça difficile de pronostiquer quoi que ce soit.

Puis le message pendant l’installation :

voilà pour NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1.run et maintenant je vais reinstaller les paquets binaires debian en suivant la procedure du lien plus haut.

c’est pas plus mal que l’installation des drivers proprio aie échoué, ca te fera moins de boulot pour les désinstaller :stuck_out_tongue:
Sinon, arrives-tu a démarrer un X avec les pilotes VESA ?
Peux-tu poster ton /etc/xorg.conf ?
Quelle est ta config exactement ? (modèle de la carte, est-elle sur un PC fixe ou portable…)

Normalement il n’y a rien de très sorcier à installer ces pilotes en suivant le tuto, c’est juste qu’il faut le faire proprement et sans être pressé. Dans les dernières pages j’ai posté la méthode bateau qui doit marcher pour tout le monde, je ne m’encombre néanmoins pas avec les détails, mais tu as l’essentiel.

ben oui! mais j’ai déjà reinstallé 6 fois les paquets nividia et 3 fois le driver nvidia telechargé sur le site nvidia. Puis modifié le fichier xorg.conf :frowning:

bon, je viens de reessayé en ayant pris soin de tout desinstaller concernant nvidia et malheureusement c’est toujours pareil :frowning:

Je fais une dernière tentative en reinstallant debian (pourtant elle etait toute fraiche mon install :frowning: )

Ben va falloir tout reprendre à zéro alors

lspci -n pour connaître exactement ton matos et voir si il n’y a pas de problème avec cette carte en particulier. Installation des paquets 1 par 1 et vérifier les bugs et problème de dépendances si il peux en avoir.

Vérifier aussi les logs durant toutes la procédure d’install voir si aucune erreur ne s’y glisse et détaillé toutes les actions au maximum et corriger toutes les erreurs qui pourront être rencontrées avant de continuer.

Comment donc par PURGER et non simplement désinstaller tout ce qui peux être en rapport avec le module NVIDIA

Comme je partage l’écran avec un commutateur Clav/Ecran/Souris (KVM quoi… pfff c’est dur de ne parler que français !..), je n’ai aucun pb entre mes deux machines.

Sinon, pour le pb de notre ami, je ne sais que dire, un /etc/init.d/gdm stop pour arrêter X (rien d’autre) et je lance l’exécutable nVidia sous root (aie ! pas la tête !) après l’avoir déplacé dans /usr/src…

Pour certaines cartes nVidia, les drivers que tu utilises ne conviennent pas (exemple).
