Résolution écran - Pilotes propriétaires ATI

Bonjour à tous,

Ayant installé Debian Lenny depuis peu, j’ai essayé d’installer les pilotes graphiques propriétaires ATI afin de tirer partie des ressources de ma carte graphique (HD 4550).
J’ai procédé de la façon suivante:
-Télécharger le .run chez ATI pour la version linux 64 bits
-chmod -x du .run
-sh du .run

Une fois redémarré, ma résolution a bien changé, mais elle est sur 1920x1080 au lieu de 1680x1050. Il me manque donc une partie de l’écran.
Lorsque je change la résolution (dans Screen Resolution Preferences) à 1680x1050, j’ai un écran noir. Je suis obligé de reseter le PC et lorsqu’il redémarre il est de retour avec 1920x1080.

Comment puis-je procéder pour régler la bonne résolution?

De plus, je ne sais pas si s’est dû à la résolution, mais depuis que j’ai installé les drivers propriétaires, le moindre mouvement sur l’écran se fait en sacades :frowning: La bonne résolution reglera peut-être ce problème.

D’après les symptômes que tu décris tu n’as pas installé correctement les drivers. Il doit y avoir une explication dans T&A, sinon en voici une rapide : si tu es en Lenny, la bonne démarche pour installer les pilotes est de supprimer tout ce qui vient du .run d’ATI, de rajouter les dépôts non-free et de taper :

De plus si tu n’utilises pas le noyau par défaut de Debian (c’est à dire si tu as compilé ton propre noyau) il faudra compiler le module pour ton noyau.

ahh un petit debut ,me concernant, tu as quoi comme noyau ,moi ca fait une semaine que j’essaie de faire fonctionner ma 4850,je mets en place le script de chez ATI, (il me semble que lors de l’installation frglx est installé), redemarrage et pof rien,ecran noir.
Apres des recherches ,aptitude install fglrx-control fglrx-driver,ne me donne rien (introuvable),module-assistant me donne bien fgrlx-kernel et fgrlx,mise en place de tout ca et…rien,je vous donne plus d’infos sur le matériel,noyau en fin de soirée… 8)
Ps:malgrer le aticonfig --initial…le resultat me donne frequence trop elevée et la je ne sais pas ou agir

J’ai le noyau Lenny par défaut en amd64.
Je viens de tester le:

puis un aticonfig --initial
Et je me retrouve avec un écran noir. Pas d’écran de login.
J’ai refait une installation complète avant de tester cette méthode afin de partir sur une bonne base.
Donc je suis toujours bloqué…

Et pourrais tu nous donner le contenu du Xorg.log (dans /var/log/ si je me souviens bien) au moment où tu as l’écran noir ?

Non j’ai tout mis jusqu’à la fin. Je suis aller chercher le fichier avec un livecd, c’est peut-être ça.

Sinon, oui j’ai deux écrans. J’avais oublié que la TV était branchée…(mais pas allumée).
Donc je viens d’essayer de démarrer avec uniquement mon écran de PC. Je n’ai plus un écran noir, j’ai quatre bandes horizontales avec des motifs bizarres. Je vois mon curseur bouger, c’est un carré composé quatre bandes horizontales.

Faut-il que je reprenne l’installation du pilote avec uniquement l’écran de pc branché?

Pas besoin de réinstaller le driver depuis le début. Mais relancer aticonfig --initial ne fera pas de mal à mon avis (voire même X -configure pour recreer l’ancien xorg.conf suivi d’aticonfig).

Et sinon pour vérifier que tout est bien installé, que donnent les commandes :

J’ai démarré en single user pour avoir la console. Puis j’ai fait:
aticonfig --initial
X -configure (suivi d’une Fatal server error)
et enfin un startx
Et j’ai toujours cet écran bizarre.

Oui pour le Ctrl+Alt+F1, je l’ai testé, mais ça ne marche pas chez moi…

Attention il faut refaire aticonfig --initial après X -configure (qui sert à remettre à plat ton xorg.conf).

Il semble après avoir regardé que le module précompilé ne soit que en 32bits, or tu es en amd64. Il va donc falloir compiler le module à la main (Ne t’inquiètes pas c’est facile). Comme sur http://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary, mais on va remplacer 7 (qui me parait innofensive mais inutile) et 8 par aticonfig --initial :

C’est au moment de l’écran noir qu’il faut récupérer le Xorg.log et nous remettre une copie!

En fait, au moment de l’écran noir, je n’arrive pas à repasser en mode console. Je suis obligé de faire un hard reset.

Il y quelques Warning innofensifs, mais aucune erreur… je crois qu’il va falloir chercher des erreurs dans les autres logs (kernel? syslog?).

J’ai la même erreur à la fin du syslog.
D’après ce que me dit mon amis Google ça serait plutôt un problème de carte wifi. Sachant que je ne l’utilise pas, ça ne me pose pas de problème.
Mais est-ce que cela peut tout bloquer?

Sinon, lorsque je démarre en mode single user, à partir de la console, je fais un startx pour essayer de démarrer l’interface graphique. Lors d’un démarrage normal je laisse debian par défaut, je ne sais pas si c’est startx ou gdm.

Oui cette erreur est due à un firmware manquant pour faire marcher une carte wifi. Pour l’enlever, il faut soit empêcher le noyau de charger le driver de cette carte (en blacklistant le module) soit installer le paquet firmware-* qui contient le bon firmware.

Et sinon je n’ai plus trop d’idées pour ton problème de driver. La dernière chose que je peux te proposer est d’essayer une version plus récente. J’ai récemment mis en place un backport de la dernière version (9-8) qui fonctionne avec Squeeze et Lenny. Tu peux essayer d’ajouter ça dans ton source.list :

EDIT: je viens de me souvenir que tu es en amd64, mais mon backport est pour i386 (je n’ai qu’un processeur 32bits). Tu peux toujours en profiter, mais il va falloir suivre ces quelques instructions :

  • tout d’abord il faut rajouter la 2ème ligne (deb-src) dans ton sources.list, mais pas la 1ère.

aptitude update aptitude build-dep fglrx-driver apt-get source fglrx-driver dpkg-source -x fglrx-driver_9-8-1+bpo1.dsc cd fglrx-driver-9-8/ dpkg-buildpackage -b
Et tu te retrouveras avec des paquets backports amd64 que tu pourras installer avec dpkg -i.

Arf, j’ai eu pendant un moment un petit espoir car j’ai eu ce même problème il y a quelques mois sur lequel j’ai séché, et qui m’a obligé à ressortir une nvidia en attendant des jours meilleurs.

C’était sur une Ati Radeon HD 4350, or cette dernière à une architecture RV 710… Tout comme la Ati Radeon HD 4550.
Attention je dis pas du tout que c’est sans espoir, moi comme dit c’était il y a 3 mois, et même si c’est pas faute de m’être acharné dessus, je peux très bien être passé à côté de la solution, sans compter que les configs ne sont pas les mêmes.

Ce qui m’avait bien énervé alors, c’était que j’étais arrivé à la faire fonctionner sur une Ubuntu 9.04, tant qu’a faire je donne les différences qu’il y avait alors entre cette dernière et Debian :

-D’un côté une Debian squeeze/sid avec un kernel 2.6.26-2-686 Xorg en version 7.3 et fglrx-driver en version 1:9-2-2
-De l’autre donc une Ubuntu 9.04 avec un noyau 2.6.28-11-generic Xorg en version 7.4 et xorg-driver-fglrx en version 2:8.600-0ubuntu2 (Moi qui croyais que les pilotes propriétaires Ati étaient numérotés façon année / mois ?).

Pas d’erreur non plus en ce qui me concerne dans le log de Xorg, mais par contre plusieurs “not implemented”.
Désolé de ne pas pouvoir t’aider laurent, mais en tout cas même si ça ne résout rien je te souhaite bonne chance, d’autant que la solution m’intéresse.
En fait je pensais essayer de retenter ma chance avec les pilotes disponibles dans Sid (Ils le sont actuellement en version 1:9-8-1) et le noyau 2.6.30.

Par contre v1nux, ça devrait pouvoir marcher pour ta carte Ati Radeon HD 4850 (Qui elle a une architecture RV 770), peut être que tu pourrais demander à debcool qui m’avait rencardé sur mon problème, je me souviens qu’il disait avoir cette même carte et arriver à la faire fonctionner sans soucis particuliers.

Et merci BeberKing pour les backports, ça me donne envie de retenter ma chance sur ma Debian Squeeze, si ça permet bien l’installation des pilotes sans être obligé, genre de prendre le Xorg de Sid, alors c’est vraiment chouette.
