résolution écran

je rencontre un problème pas grave, mais agaçant et inexplicable

le système (lenny) boote automatiquement sur gnome …
alors l’écran se met d’emblée en mode veille ! et la résolution est inadéquate (1280 x 768), et je n’arrive pas à la modifier (avec l’utilitaire “résolution de l’écran”)

mais si je ferme la session et relance gnome via gdm alors tout rentre dans l’ordre (la résolution est bonne : 1024x768) …

je comprends pas …

Édite ton /etc/X11/xorg.conf et supprime la résolution 1280x768.

c’était déjà fait (la preuve : quand je relance la résolution est correcte) et c’est là que je comprends plus …

As-tu essayé # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, pour relancer la détection de ton écran ?

Sinon une autre piste qui a marché chez moi: les “modelines”, c’est pour forcer une résolution + fréquence de rafraîchissement par défaut.

malheureusement les deux méthodes ne résolvent rien

je ne comprends pas la nature du problème mais à priori xorg.conf doit être correcte puisque quand je relance gnome tout est bon …
j’ai remarqué aussi le même problème sous KDE à la différence que sous KDE je peux modifier la résolution mais la correction ne tient pas lors d’une relance de KDE …

Il semblerait que ce soit un pb d’initialisation du serveur graphique “hors session”…

Que fait-il ? Il cherche la plus haute résolution possible, associée souvent à une fréquence de rafraichissement insuffisante… Vraisemblablement, ton écran ne se met pas en veille, mais c’est tout simplement l’affichage se plante.

Une fois ta session activée, tu peux forcer au niveau des menus la résolution que tu veux… Mais dès que tu quitte la session, il réinitialise l’interface graphique de façon incorrecte…

La manip à tenter est la suivante :

dpkg-reconfigure xserver.org

Décocher TOUTES les résolutions proposées supérieures à 1024x768

Et signifier que les plages de fréquences de rafraichissement ne soient pas marquées dans le Xorg.conf

J’ai eu il y a qq temps un pb très similaire au tien, et cette manip l’a résolu

j’ai suivi tes recommandations … bernique !
de toute façon j’avais déjà liquidé les résolutions supérieures
il semble bien que ce soit bien une mise en veille d’emblée, puisqu’il me suffit de taper sur une touche du clavier pour avoir l’affichage (à une mauvaise résolution)
décidément rien n’est simple …

Juste aprés le “mauvais démarrage” de gdm et avant de le relancer, qu’y a t il dans Xorg.0.log ?

on peux voir le xorg.conf aux complet ?
