Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration

Bonjour,

J’ai voulu installer une debian etch avec enlightement et xfce donc j’ai fait une installation sans interface graphique en netinstall.
Je me suis inspiré de ce tuto pour l’installation.

Une fois fini, j’ai essayé de le lancer avec un $ startx mais j’ai eu comme message d’erreur code Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration[/code].

En cherchant dans google j’ai vu plusieurs personnes qui avaient le même problème du à des bidouillage de leur carte graphique avec les drivers nvidea.
Il va sans dire que ce n’est pas mon cas puisque je n’ai même pas eu l’occasion de le bidouiller une fois.

J’ai essayé, ça semblait bon étant donné qu’il semblait détecter la bonne carte graphique et autre mais j’ai quand même eu le même message d’erreur.

Peut-être ai-je mal répondu à un des (nombreux) choix.
Une idée ? Un site qui explique clairement lezs choix ?

Quel pilote utilises-tu ?
Quelle carte graphique / chipset pour l’affichage ?
Quelles options pour ton écran dans ton xorg.conf ? es-tu certain que les options qui sont présentes sont compatibles avec ton écran ?

Ecran large haute définition WXGA 15,4" BrightView
Résolution: 1280 x 800
je ne sais pas si ça aide

Dans le Xorg.0.log, il y a les différentes resolution qui défilent avec la raison de leur mise à l’écart, sinon monte le HorizSync à 57 (le dernier chiffre).

Ca ne fonctionne pas

edit : j’ai trouvé sur le wiki de X.org un problème similaire mais je n’ai pas les logs sugerés

edit 2 :par contre sur le forum de ubuntu, cette personne semble avoir le +/- même soucis mais pas de solutions proposées. Je ne perds pas espoire et continue de chercher

Attend, là tu es sur le module nv par sur le vesa (qui lui est en béton). Changer «driver nv» en «driver vesa» dans ton xorg.conf.

Non, mêmes causes mêmes effets et du temps perdu. D’après les logs, ta carte est mal gérée, essaye déjà en Vesa puis installe le driver nvidia propriétaire ou un backport de xorg.

La liste de cartes qu’indique ton log semble inclure ta carte (ce qui n’est pas mauvais signe en général :stuck_out_tongue: )
Comme le dit fran, tentes déjà d’utiliser le pilote vesa qui devrait, dans un premier temps de permettre d’avoir un affichage, on pourra ensuite se concentrer sur une installation propre du pilote nvidia.

Edit : il est tôt le matin et le premier café est à peine fini mais je ne vois pas la partie “installation propre de drivers nvidia pour debian” dans le tuto que tu signales dans ton premier post : une fois certain que le pilote vesa marche correctement je t’engage fortement à aller consulter un des topics sur l’installation pour Debian de pilotes nvidia présents dans la partie “trucs et astuces” de ce forum ^^.

Ca fonctionne avec le driver Vesa !
Un grand merci, je vais regarder au driver nvidia de ce pas (et laisser Hoshin finir son café)

edit: quelques questions questions :
je vois dans le tuto (c’est bien celui là non ?) à la deuxième étape d’installer le linux-image en fonction de son système 3é ou 64 bits. Mon pc est un intel mais j’ai une version “classique” de debian 32 bits (parce qu’on m’a dit que de toute façon y avait plus de support pour tout ce qui est 32 bits). Que dois-je installer ?

au moment où a été ecrit l’article, les cartes 8xxx n’étaient pas supportées (la mienne 8400). Est-ce que ça a évolué ? Comment puis-je connaitre les dernières versions ?
