Installer le pilote graphique Nvidia

Bonjour à tous,
Alors voilà j’ai installé ma Debian depuis quelques jours déjà , et comme je trouvais que Gnome 2 sur Debian squeeze était vraiment moche, j’ai décidé de passer à Debian wheezy pour bénéficier de la dèrnière version du Gnome :114 .
Donc jusque là tout va bien, mais là où ça coince c’est quand j’ai voulu installer le pilote de ma carte graphique (Nvidia GeForce 320M) pour bénéficier de toutes les qualités de mon gnome (là il est en mode “restreint” :confused: ), donc j’ai parcouru le net je suis passé par la doc, google, les forums etc …
Mais j’ai jamais réussi à faire fonctionner ce :013 de pilote !
Dans la plupart des cas soit ce que je faisait, je ne voyais aucune différence, soit il ne voulais pas me lancer X et je me retrouvais sur un terminal à devoir annuler mes modifications pour pouvoir retourner à mon interce graphique :frowning:

Pourquoi ne pas tester le driver “nouveau”, qui fonctionne à merveille pour moi (certes sur une 8800GTS mais bon du nvidia quoi) :

  1. Supprimer et purger toutes traces éventuelles du driver nvidia proprio, en root :
    apt-get remove --purge nvidia*
  2. Démarrer en rescue, et virer le /etc/X11/xorg.conf :
    mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.old
  3. Installer “nouveau” et le support glx, sinon gnome sera en mode restreint, en root :
    sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-video-nouveau libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-dri xserver-xorg-core
    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

reboot et voir ce que ça donne.

PS : pour une raison obscure, je n’ai jamais reussi à lancer “Xorg -configure” ni “X -configure” … mais tout marche correctement.

Je m’y connais pas vraiment en analyse de log, mais ça me parait bizarre ça … si je comprends bien ce que je vois, X est construit pour un noyau 3.2… et le boot a été fait sur un noyau 2.6… mais je peux tout à fait ne rien comprendre et me tromper

c’est vraiment à se taper un infarctus de lire tout ces trucs abracadabrant rien que pour installer un pilote nvidia, alors que dans notre wiki il y’a la méthode la plus simple bien nommée “méthode pour les fainéants” Chacun se fait chier comme il peut.

Faut directement coller les liens sur l’installation de nvidia qui est expliqué sur notre wiki.

D’ailleurs faut faire un plugin qui possède des messages prêts et l’utiliser dans de tel sujet :mrgreen: .

Ah pas mal : cela voudrait dire que c’est possible, donc que les headers, pratiquement, suffiraient au moment de la compilation du driver, même moteur tournant sur un autre kernel. Intéressant pour le passage en Wheezy stable l’an prochain, restera plus qu’à trouver la version de Gcc pour les noyaux 3 (puisqu’elle ne peut pas être dans /proc/version dans la mesure où l’on est toujours sous l’ancien kernel au moment de la transmutation).

Je dis “apparement” car je ne sais pas comment avoir la preuve que mes pilotes sont bien installés et j’ai un autre pitit problème (tant qu’à faire, autant faire d’une pierre deux coups :mrgreen: ) : mon Gnome est toujours en mode restreint et je ne sais pas comment changer ça, alors si une âme charitable avait la gentillesse d’éclairer ma lanterne à ce sujet …

Essaye avec la commande ci-dessous (le paquet ‘meta-utils’ est requis pour son fonctionnement):
glxinfo | grep “direct render”

Si la ligne de sortie contient ‘yes’ tu as l’accélération 3d et donc tu pourras normalement fonctionner gnome 3 avec ses effets non limité.

Donne la sortie de cet commmande aussi (le paquet ‘meta-utils’ est requis pour son fonctionnement):
glxinfo | grep version

Les tutoriels de Debian permettent d’installer le pilote nVidia selon plusieurs méthodes.

Chez moi le pilote proprio convient mieux à ma carte, notamment pour les jeux vidéos.

Donc, la méthode que j’ai utilisée et qui a marché du premier coup est celle du chapitre “Installation du pilote propriétaire avec les dépôts Debian : méthode alternative” dans wiki.debian-facile.org/manuel:nvidia : ainsi pas de souci, toutes les dépendances s’installent en même temps que le pilote, et c’est sûr puisque venant des dépôts officiels. :023

Attends pour chanter victoire, d’avoir eu à changer de kernel et/ou d’avoir à changer de version de driver nVidia.

D’habitude, j’installe le run à la pogne, mais en effet je me méfie un peu avec Debian, je verrai bien quand il y aura un changement de kernel.

Ce qui m’étonne, d’ailleurs : normalement, celui-ci ne devrait pas poser de problème avec les bons headers et tout le toutim habituel, à l’instar de Fedora où à chaque nouveau kernel tout se remet en place en même temps avec la Màj de kmod-nvidia.

En suivant le tuto pour Debian que je cite plus haut, j’ai eu le pilote 295, mais peu me chaut d’avoir le 304.

Si Debian joue les danseuses sur ce point, je serais un poil déçu.

Hum… Cela fait depuis Squeeze que le paquet nvidia-kernel-dkms existe, ce qui permet de re-créer le module nvidia à chaque changement de noyau.

Sinon, concernant les drivers Nvidia et Debian Wheezy/Sid 64Bits, il y a un bug gênant qui empêche l’installation des librairies 32Bits d’Nvidia (libgl1-nvidia-glx-i386), voir ici : Bug #640499

La solution est expliquée en bas du rapport de bug.

On ne voit même pas pourquoi ce sujet revient à la surface plusieurs fois par semaine, mais je suis surtout étonné que tu ne signales un bug dans notre wiki que maintenant et que tu n’aies pas pris le temps de le mettre à jour.

ton screenshot indique que tu utilises le pilote libre nouveau et non le nvidia
la méthode pour fainéant l’a dans le baba :dance:
utilise plutôt la vrai méthode préconisée par debian : dkms
