Problème d'affichage - RESOLU

Cela a peut être quelque chose à voir avec ton écran. Repère la section suivante :

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Écran générique"
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 28-40
VertRefresh 43-60

et fais en sorte que HorizSync et VertRefresh correspondent aux valeurs de ton écran. Il s’agit des plages de fréquences de rafraîchissement horizontal et vertical. Avec un peu de bol, ça changera quelque chose.

Si ça ne marche toujours pas, dans la section “device” (celle qui correspond à ta carte graphique), remplace “ati” par “vesa”, pour voir.

La section “Monitor” était déjà comme indique pour ce qui est des fréquences exactes de mon moniteur, je ne les connais pas (il a plus de 10 ans), j’ai juste vu dans les menus OSD qu’il ne faut pas dépasser 65 pour le VertFresh; J’ai remplacé “ati” par “vesa” mais ça n’a rien changé. Après avoir rebooté, il ne me propose toujours que 640x480 et 800x600
ça m’énerve pas mal car sans effort, un windows ou une mandriva ont tout de suite un affichage qui permet de travailler de manière confortable…

Je crois que le reste sera pour demain car quand ce problème sera résolu, j’aurai une (très) grosse demande à formuler :smiley: :mrgreen:

Les plages de fréquences exactes sont inscrites dans le manuel de ton moniteur. Sinon, elles le sont peut être sur son dos, sur une plaquette, près des connecteurs. Sinon, google est ton ami.

Cela dit, rien ne t’empêches de mettre des valeurs très larges, qui ne correspondent pas forcément aux capacités de ton écran.

Voici les valeurs pour un de mes anciens écrans, un CRT 19 pouces :

HorizSync 30-111 VertRefresh 50-160

Avec ça, tu peux paramétrer une réso de 1600x1200 pour un taux de rafraîchissement de 85Hz. Tu devrais pouvoir fixer une résolution de 1024x768@85.

Mon écran est un Siemens/Nixdorf D26361 (Cathodique) de 1997, il n’y a pas d’autre précisions sur la plaquette…
Pour l’instant, les paramètres dans xorg.conf sont:

HorizSync 28-40
VertRefresh 43-60

La seule indication, obtenue dans le osd est max 65Mhz pour le VertFresh, donc je ne crois pas avoir beaucoup de marge (?) :confused:
Il faut avouer que c’est du vieux matos acheté à bon marché quand je suivais des cours d’administrateur réseau (mais sous Windows 2003 Server - voir plus haut mon premier message)

Effectivement, Google n’est pas très amical sur ce coup là. As-tu essayé avec les paramètres que je t’ai fourni deux messages plus haut ?

si tu es en 32 bits, tu dois avoir read-edid comme paquet qui te donne des infos.

Depuis, le pc fonctionne “en boucle”:
je mets mon login, mon mot de passe, le pc repasse très brièvement en mode texte (+/- 1/2 seconde) puis revient à l’écran d’accueil là où on doit mettre son login :frowning:

Donc, je n’ai même plus accès aux commandes en mode texte. Là, je ne sais pas quoi faire…

Au redémarrage de l’ordi, choisis “single user mode”. Tu démarreras en mode console et tu pourras te logger en root, le temps de réparer.

Bon, j’ai remis les valeurs initiales sauf que j’ai remplacé 60 par 65(toléré par mon écran) en VertSync.
A nouveau donc retour à la case départ, toujours bloqué avec un max de 800x600, qui me donne trois icones maximum sur le hauteur de l’écran… :confused:

En fait, tu dois avoir un problême à l’ouverture de session, mais en quoi ça peut venir de read-edid, je ne vois pas trop :open_mouth:
Par contre, quand tu ne rentre pas en session, tu dois avoir tout de même accés aux consoles texte avec ctrl+alt+F1 à F6.
Il faudrait regarder le fichier .xsession-errors dans ton répertoire utilisateur qui doit te donner des infos sur la raison pour laquelle la session ne s’ouvre pas.
Depuis la console, tu devrais faire un read-edid pour voir ce qu’il te dit (en regardant dans le man comment ça marche), puis purger le paquet pour pouvoir refonctionner normalement.

Ma session s’ouvre à nouveau normalemnt, le gros souci est ce satané affichage qui me pose problème (pour des raisons de lisibilité évidentes), sinon, tout fonctionne. Je voudrais simplement obtenir le même affichage qu’avec Windows, Mandriva, etc. c’est-à-dire en 1024x768.
Quand ce sera (enfin) résolu, je ferai à nouveau appel à vous pour mener à bien ce que je voudrais faire. Mais ce problème d’affichage est presque chronique avec debian…

Qu’est ce que ça donne si tu supprimes les lignes de refresh ?
Et si tu ne déclares aucun mode ?

Là où il y a mode “DRI” était déjà en remarque, j’ai fait pareil pour les synchor horizontales et verticales, rebelote, le pc tournait “en boucle” (voir ci-dessus). J’ai donc du repartir en single user et avec vi annuler ces modifs :frowning:
La vraie galère pour l’instant, c’est que j’ai 3 pc sous Windows + mon serveur (qui est aussi le routeur pour routage et accès distant) qui est en dual boot windows/debian donc pour chaque tentative, je dois rebooter pour choisir debian, faire la modif, rebooter pour voir les résultats et enfin rebooter pour revenir sous windows et pouvoir répondre sur le forum…

Ton indication sur ce que tu as sous win est interessante: il tient donc le 75 (et j’imagine que c’est en horizontal, puisque tu as vu qu’il n’allait qu’en 65 vertical).
Donc en prenant le risque de le claquer, tu peux essayer:

VertRefresh 43-65

Au pire, tu peux y aller à petit pas.
Tu peux donner quand même une fois le contenu entier de /var/log/Xorg.0.log, pour voir ?
