Xorg.conf vide ?

Bonjour.
J’ai un problème qui m’est arrivé sur plusieurs machines.
Je suis sous Debian Lenny AMD64 et le fixhier xorg.conf est quasiment vide.
Evidemment l’affichage déconne completement.

Comment faire pour régénérer un bon fichier xorg.conf ?
Ou bien si c’est impossible pouvez vous me poster un xorg.conf fraichement installé (sans options bizzares et modifications diverses)

Sinon le fait que ton xorg.conf soit vide c’est assez logique car tu dois utiliser la version 7.3 ou supérieur

Effectivement le xorg.conf n’est plus obligatoire mais dpkg ne le reconstitue pas. J’ai été obligé d’en retrouver des sauvegardes faites par le systeme et qui se trouvent dans /etc/X11.

Je connaissais déjà dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg mais le problème c’est qu’il me généère un fichier aussi vide qu’il l’était avant.

Mhhh donc comment vais-je faire pour faire comprendre à xorg d’utiliser le driver fglrx, avec la résolution que je veux, etc … sachant que xorg.conf n’est plus utilisé ???

En effectuent ce que t’a fais présentement, utiliser une sauvegarde. Ce que j’ai fait aussi.
une chose est sure:

A moins d’une nouvelle installation vous avez plusieurs sauvegardes en /etc/X11 :smiley:

Du coup je viens de faire une vraie sauvegarde du mien !

AH ouais et si je te dis que mon disque dur a crashé et que je suis sur une installe toute neuve …
Je vais avoir du mal à trouver une quelconque sauvegarde …

Quelqu’un sait pourquoi on a plus besoin de xorg.conf, qu’est-ce qui prend le relais ?
et c’est à partir de quelle version que le xorg.conf se vide ? (moi en lenny il est encore bien rempli)

Si tu en as un, il s’en sert ! Mais c’est lors d’une réinstall qu’il ne se génère plus :slightly_smiling:

Je suis en sid (sidux) avec des changements de release tous les deux jours et mon xorg tient bon !

Le xorg.conf n’est plus nécessaire mais si il existe si je ne me trompe pas il prend la config qui lui est passé. Donc on peux très bien avoir un xorg vide ou un xorg rempli et tout faire fonctionner correctement.

Sinon on peux trouver plein d’exemple d’xorg.conf sur ce forum suffit de se baisser pour les ramasser

Ce n’est carrément pas au point et ça devient fatigant.

Je passe hier d’une Etch à une Sid et je tombe comme toi sur un xorg.conf quasiment vide avec une résolution par défaut à 1152x864 @75Hz sur mon 17" (merci les migraines).

Un clic droit propriété sur le bureau à la windows me permet de basculer en 1024x768 85Hz. Mais à chaque reboot ça repasse en 1152x864.
Pas de problème me dis-je, on va modifier le xorg.conf comme avant: je fixe la résolution et les taux de rafraîchissements et au reboot je me retrouve en tty avec comme erreurs dans les logs:
